In the words of LUCA MARONI
Tenuta Pernice has been inserted in the Annuario dei Migliori Vini Italiani di Luca Maroni, an annual guide to the most important Italian wineries, analysed wine by wine.
For more than twenty years Luca Maroni has been promoting Italy’s important oenological patrimony and advocating the philosophy of informed drinking, through his press releases, consultancies, workshops, events and above all through his highly followed website, www.lucamaroni.com.
We are proud to repeat here a few of his comments about Tenuta Pernice, taken from the 2012 edition of his Annuario.
The best wine: Malvasia Passito L’appuntamento 2009
It’s easy to think, correctly so, that a sweet wine is a good wine, but there is sweet wine and then again there is sweet wine. And the difference lies in the nuances. To be exact, in the balance… Here, harmony is productively and naturally sovereign. Such caramelized apricot in layers of barley. What a spicy mix its natural abundance of sugars, a menthol-edged persuasiveness of pure pressed concentrated grapes.
Concluding comment
The merit of a glass from the Tenuta Pernice waxes persuasive and smooth. A crisp Sauvignon Colli Piacentini 2010, among the sharpest and most aromatic (ortrugos), Ortrugo Frizzante 2010, a fruitiness which is truly lively and limpidly pleasing. Great persuasiveness deriving from rigorous winemaking is presented by the Gutturnio Superiore 2010: decisive its black cherry which is rare to find. Excellent cherry quality also in the Bonarda Colli Piacentini 2010. Wine from the tasting, Malvasia Passito L’appuntamento 2009: a great nobility for its density, sweetness, winemaker’s cleanliness, floral notes, stainless crystalline aromatic quality.
Thanks from the bottom of our heart to Luca Maroni for his words, which sometimes are stones and sometimes, as in this case, are sweet perfume!
